Bookstore madness...
So today Robert went to the Michigan game and it was me and my girl for the day. I was long overdue for a good shopping spree for MYSELF and decided to go to the Tanger outlets in Howell. I found some great bargains and clothes that I actually got excited about! It seemed every time I'd go look for myself I never found anything I liked. Weird. Anyway, we were in the last store and I was looking at some books. I had given Madelyn a box to her shoes that she just got, so she had something to entertain herself with. She was getting antsy and wanting to get down and go so I was desperate. I was checking out and then I noticed her kind of choking/gagging. More so gagging but still it startled me and I freaked out a bit. On the verge of tears but not quite. I squeezed her cheeks and noticed some paper in the back of her tongue. Completely grossed out at the thought of my germ infested shopped all day fingers in her mouth, I proceeded to try and scoop it out. It was so far back and I couldn't get it. She was kind of sitting just staring at me at this point but not gagging anymore. I didn't know what was happening. I just wanted it to either go down or come back out. Then I realized she had swallowed it. I guess I could say I was relieved that she swallowed it though. A lady standing near by asked what it was and when I said paper she assured me that was fine, it kind of dissolves and told me she had 3 boys and all have swallowed paper and they were fine. hahah Good to know I am the mom who freaks out at anything but also good to see her fine and not choking on paper in her mouth. I felt like a bad mom for a moment there until I could catch my cool. Let's just say I worked up quite a sweat in that bookstore today. But we did have a great day just my girl and I:)
My big girl!
These pictures say it all. Madelyn is crawling all over the place and getting into anything she can get her pretty little hands on. For the most part though, she does stay in our living room which is nice. We have to keep on her about getting into the computer stuff though, but not too bad. She had lateley been opening and closing the door to the dvds and thinking she is just the coolest girl ever for doing so! She takes them out one by one and then scatters them in a sweeping motion with her hands and feet. She so funny! I can't believe we're coming up on 9 months in about another week and it's already time for her to have another professional photo session! Wow, time flies when you're having fun!!! :)

Whew! Breathe.....
Gosh I feel like I have been go go go all day every day these last few weeks! Probably because I have! I started back to school 2 weeks ago, teaching, not being a student hahah and I haven't had any time to get on and update you all with our lives. Plus having a husband who is OBSESSED with the computer and his video games doesn't help...he is always on this darn thing and I have to fight him to let me on every once in a while:) So yeah we are well into our daily routine now and things runs very smoothly and I'm liking it. Of course I miss Madelyn when she is at daycare during the day but I have actually adjusted surprisingly well and I feel good bring home a paycheck and contributing in that way:) It is a fulfilling feeling to know I am worth something out in the working world and that dang 80 thousand dollar was worth it! haha
Here is a look at our daily schedule:

That is quite a lot of things packed into one evening and it is very exausting but well worth it all for the two loves of my life! All of that and it's off to bed around 10 so I can wake up the next day and do it aaaalllll over again!

Bye Bye Da-da!
So here I am tonight at home...just me and the babes. Robert just left for the airport with a coworker. They are working in Albany, NY this week on a project they've been working on. I'm not minding it so far, it's nice having the house to myself but I know by tomorrow night I will be missing my hubby TONS. I would have never said this over the summer but now that I am back to work, I can admit I do enjoy a few minutes to myself.hahah I love you hubbs! Actually, in all honesty I have been cleaning and getting things ready for tomorrow ever since he left 2 hours and 10 minutes ago. Wow, that's quite a bit of stuff I had to do!
So yeah...we are alone until early Saturday morning:( but we will be having a couple of dinner dates to look forward to this week. With being back to work, I pick Madelyn up, get home in time to nurse her, feed her dinner, bathe hear and then nurse again and get her to bed. Very little play time for us...it's really sad but I've gotta do what I gotta do right? From the minute I get home till the minute she goes to bed, it's ALL about Madelyn and I wouldn't love it any other way. I have the best life and I am completely blessed by my husband and beautiful baby girl:)
The posted pic is of Madelyn with Robert right before he left for the airport. It's pretty cute isn't it?

Labor Day Par-tay!
Yesterday we had our Labor Day party at......you guessed it the Lake!:) So sad though...last boat ride, last volleyball game, last wave runner ride, last time tubing....for 2008. Maybe this hot weather will keep up and we will get back out there in Sept. before the dock and boat are taken out of the water. I'm crossing my fingers but not getting my hopes up as we will get very busy with the new fall schedule. Anyway, I had my camera out there but as I went to take pics it said my battery was exausted. I just charged it too! Must not have worked so I was bummed and didn't get any pictures of the long day in the sun.
We spent most of the day playing volleyball and I am soooooooooo sore once again. It was a lot of fun playing with everyone. We also kayaked (however that's spelled) and my abbbbbbsssss HURT today. I wish I could have done that every single day all summer long- I'd have the best dang abs on the block!
My poor Madelyn had a little accident yesterday....poor girl. She fell off the bed!! It wasn't my fault but I will keep the story short so the person who is the blame for it doesn't feel any worse than she already does:( It really was a clean fall and she didn't hit her head but it scared the beejeebers out of her and she cried and cried and cried until I nursed her and she went to sleep. She was on her belly on the bed (bad idea) and scooted back and off the end of the bed. I think her legs kinda scraped down the foot board but she didn't have any marks or bruises. She really was fine. I guess the falls have to start sometime right?
Ohhhhh yeah!!!!!!!! In other news- we have a crawler now! She hasn't quite figured out that she can get around anywhere she wants but she is crawling. I still have to lure he with a toy to really make her go across the room but she can do it. Oh she just woke up so I will end on that good note:)

Things are looking UP:)
Well today officially marks the last day of summer for the Wheelers, boo:( I really get sad when summer ends because I love how relaxed and yet how crazy but exciting the summer season is. I LOVED being home with Madelyn every day, all day and being able to wake up to her and be a part of all her new and exciting milestones day after day. I love her soooo much!!!!
After searching for a teaching job all summer to no avail, last minute one popped up at Arnold Elem. in Michigan Center and I was hired a week ago! I am thrilled to be in that district. It is where I did my student teaching and I love the people and the atmosphere there. It's great, so I am very thankful. I'll be the resource room teacher for mostly 2nd graders. (I only have 7 students right now) Doors were closed prior to this job but the Lord knew where He wanted me and here I am, so thankful:) It's nice to have a paycheck each week now. Robert and I are getting paid bi-weekly but opposite weeks which convienent! I can't believe the difference of teaching in the south compared to here in Michigan. It's crazy the differences!! Pay and benefits! Moving to the north (with a Union) and being my 3rd year teaching I took a 30% pay raise WOW! On top of that the health insurance is AWESOME. No co-pays, free chiropratics, massages...you name it. It can't be beat. I know that education and the medical profession have a reputation for awesome health insurance but after having very terrible insurance in NC, I can truley be grateful for MESSA:) I had messa my 1st year teaching at Addison but was single and didn't tap into it like I will now. For those of you who don't know- we paid almost $8000 for Madelyn's birth! We'd do it again in a heartbeat but you can see how happy we will be to pay NADDA for the next one:) Oh and yet ANOTHER bonus to that health insurance-My whole family is covered at no cost either! NO COST! that means Robert was able to cancel his insurance and now his salary just jumped $2000. Cheers all around!!!
