So much has changed for sweet lyssa lou over the past month. She got over her colic and has become such a happy little girl. She is always smiling unless she is hungry or tired. I look forward to her smiling face when I pick her up each day!
She has grown increasingly aware of what's happening around her, so much that she is quickly losing interest in nursing:( I no longer can nurse her before bed or during the day because as soon as she hears any noise (aka her sister's voice) she has to see what is going on. It's pretty cute but also sad because I really enjoy nursing. I do continue to pump everyday while I am working and I am able to nurse her once in the middle of the night and in the early morning when she first wakes up.
Alyssa finally began falling asleep on her own a week after starting daycare. She was just over 3 months then. At 4 months, I moved her out of her bassinet and up to her bedroom and crib for nighttime and naptime. Before this, she would scream and cry when I'd try to lay her down in her own crib. Life quickly got so much better for us when she was sleeping in her own bed. She was waking up multiple times a night and really disrupting our sleep. Now she goes to bed around 7:30 and will usually sleep until 3 or 4ish, nurse and go right back to sleep. She sometimes will wake up a couple hours sooner and I am able to get her back to sleep just by sticking her binky back in her mouth and turning on her aquarium. Then, she will sleep until it is time to eat again, which is about 8 hours after going to bed.
She had her first ear infection a couple of weeks ago after catching a cold from Madelyn.Amoxicillan cleared it up but it was a rough process. This is what screwed up her good sleep habits in the night. Not that they were the greatest but she was sleeping in 6 hour stretches until the ear infection but after, it was 4 times a night or so. That's when something needed to be done:)
